I have been working as a computational engineer at Knightec in Stockholm scice Februari 2019. I am currently developing a Python script for computing transient thermal conductivity. 

I have previously been working as a researcher at Swerim (previously Swerea KIMAB). Most of my work has been in the field of finite element computation. I have been involved in various national and international projects where my computations and analysis have been great aid in different research fields. I have also been directly consulting companies and helped them with product and production process verifications. 


The finite element computations and analysis have mostly been performed with ABAQUS and LS-DYNA. However I do have a great interest in free and open source software, FOSS, and in particular computation solvers like CalculiX and Code_Aster. I have been teaching computation engineers from the industry in this area in order to spread the knowledge and to widen the use of FOSS.


Coding, or scripting, has become one of my skills which I often use as a complementary to the FEA. I have developed a great interest in Python and I use Pandas, SciPy and Matplotlib at regular basis.



I have always enjoyed sketching and painting. My Bachelor degree is a combination of mechanical engineer and industrial designer. However I have so far only used the design part at personal level. I have a website where I post my paintings made with FOSS, mostly Krita:  www.artinlinux.com

Finite element analysis

  • Welding computation of Super Duplex materials with phase transformations. Python (SciPy optimize) programing for obtaining phase transformations and FE for thermal simulations.
  • Parametric optimization for spot welds in a car frame. (Python + SciPy + Abaqus)
  • Study of composite materials and titanium joints for the aircraft industry.
  • Optimizing material behaviour for ductile materials in order to characterize true stress/strain after necking. (Python + LsDyna)
  • Teaching FOSS simulation tools.
  • Cutting simulations with SPH. Presented a paper at the  conference CIRP CMMO in France.


Material testing and analysis

  • Tensile testing with standard specimens and non standard products.
  • Tensile testing in elevated temperatures in order to characterize material behaviour at different temperatures which is useful for welding simulations.
  • Compression testing.
  • Cyclic analysis of various materials.
  • Fatigue testing, LCF and HCF.
